Sierk Schröder was a student of the Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague. Worked in Paris in the studio of André l'Hôte. He paints, draws, watercolors portraits and figures and also designs stamps. Received the royal subsidies in 1926-1928, the Thérèse van Duyl-Schwartze Prize in 1935, the Jacob Hartog Prize in 1951. Professor at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam since 1961.
